A master limited partnership (MLP) is a publicly traded partnership that combines characteristics of a partnership and a publicly traded company. MLPs generally do not pay federal income tax at the entity level. Instead, taxable income is generally passed through to unitholders, who are responsible for taxes on their share of the partnership’s taxable income.

An MLP typically consists of a general partner and limited partners. The general partner manages the partnership’s operations, while limited partners generally hold publicly traded units and have limited involvement in day-to-day management.

Sunoco LP is one of the largest independent fuel distributors in the world, supplying more than 15 billion gallons of fuel annually. The Partnership delivers transportation fuels to approximately 11,000 Sunoco and partner-branded retail locations, as well as independent dealers and commercial customers.
